After what has been a barrage of shows in Winnipeg we finally have some time to head back to work on some more music. We got two new original tracks and two remix's that Mark and Nathan have been working endless hours over. Both are for bands from the YYZ Label out of Toronto - TMDP and Madrid. Mark produced a brilliant remix of TMDP's song 'Montage' off their latest release, it's a straight up modern disco sound. Nathan on the other hand did up a 80's synth and clap inspired remix of Madrid's 'Ironways'. Then we all get together and rip them apart and put em back together - thing is, as I write this blog, I just realized I am telling you about some music we can't even post yet....mmm, smart one.
Regardless, they sound brilliant and we will let you know when they are available.
Now, as I sit here writing this, Mark is doing some more tweaking to a song I kept posting on my Facebook status as 'Holy shit Mark wrote a killer track'. He did, it's insane and our friend Mike B will be debuting a demo version of it on his POP! ET CETERA promotion download compilation. Oh? Haven't heard of POP! ET CETERA yet? Winnipeg's finest new Indie Rock and Electronic festival? Well, head on over to the site to find out more - http://popetc.ca. Our support slot of Shout Out Out Out is part of this fine new gem of a fest. Maybe you should check some of the shows out? I suggest pretty much every one of them if you can do it, otherwise pick and choose at your liking.
Ok, so since I am telling you about our music but not posting any of it, here is a link to something I think we have all been enjoying:

Winnipeg hiphop never sounded better

I was introduced to these guys by my friend Doug about a year ago - the track that eyes first was 'Checkin on My Pumas'. Why? It may be my former love for Puma shoes as a teenager, I had about five pairs and well, love them to death. The track itself proved to be an ear grabber now - its was a throwback sound to my youth and one I was pretty sure would catch the ears of those of my age and younger.
The Lyrics are clever, the beat is of a non traditional rap style and the chorus melody was so bloody catchy I found my self singing all week. 'She asked me what's my secret, my shoes, my shoes'. Damn that's good.
Anyway, they are dropping their debut record on September 15th and I suggest you check out the tracks being leaked on their myspace page every other day. This is great original throwback sound, that's the best way I can describe....peep it here:
